We are currently partnered with a forward-thinking MSP who have big expansion and acquisition plans after acquiring a larger office and getting a large budget sing off to build out their IT support teams further.
They pride themselves on being a people led MSP, offering a great culture and working environment and above industry standard salaries. They are looking for a talented 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a dynamic team based in Bath.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on a thriving service desk, assisting users both remotely and on-site, while also contributing to various technical projects, including Cloud implementations and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to software, hardware, and cloud platforms via ticketing system, email, phone, and on-site visits.
- Handle and escalate cases according to established processes.
- Provide proactive support and guidance to the 1st line team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge base documentation.
- Manage user account administration, including new user setups and leavers in Active Directory and other applications.
- Assist with the delivery of IT projects, taking ownership as required.
- Essential Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT support and help desk management.
- Experience managing and delivering cloud projects.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proactive problem-solving abilities with a can-do attitude.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Experience with Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server OS management and support.
- Experience as a point of escalation for 1st line colleagues.
- Knowledge of Azure, Office 365, Intune, and other MDM solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Modern Workplace services (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Flow).
- Proficient in Microsoft Operating systems 7 – 11.
- Strong understanding of modern IT platforms, enterprise IT systems, and networking technologies.
- Highly Desirable Skills:
- Experience with system migrations, recovery, and security.
- Proficiency in managing virtualized environments (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop, Hyper-V, VMWare).
- Knowledge of major networking components (Switches, Routers, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, etc.).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computing or similar
Microsoft certification – highly desirable
Previous experience in an MSP is highly desirable
